How can you tell if you are experiencing migration-related grief?

We created a short test as a guidance tool to help you detect signs of migration grief; it does not replace professional care.

It's a guide to help you understand how you feel and decide what steps to take. Answer honestly; it's completely confidential.

The inner journey of the migrant hero

Migrating is much more than changing countries. It’s a profound process that shakes our roots, our certainties, and even the way we see ourselves. When we migrate, we say goodbye not only to places and people, but also to who we thought we were. As migrants, we begin an inner process of rearranging what we left behind with what we are starting to build—until the pieces settle into place again and the heart finds where it belongs.

Today, I speak to you through this book—a warm and thoughtful companion. Within its pages, you will find clear explanations, therapeutic exercises, and powerful questions to help you navigate your migratory grief and reconnect with yourself in your new reality.

From the very first page, this book will be your guide. It will serve as an emotional compass, offering clarity and direction as you take your next steps and begin to put down roots in new soil.

This is an invitation to the bravest journey of all: the adventure of your inner life. A path without masks or labels, where you can discover—or rediscover—who you truly are, and become the hero of your own story.

What if your migration grief could become the greatest gift to other women? What does it mean to be a steel magnolia?

If, after taking the workshop “The Inner Journey of the Migrant Hero,” you feel that your life has taken root in this new land, that your heart is beginning to bloom again, and that within you springs the desire to extend your fragrance and strength to other migrant women, then perhaps your time has come: to provide shade and nourishment to those who are still going through the stress of migration.

Why should I get certified to join the Steel Magnolias Network?

Because grief is not something to be experienced alone. Although pain is deeply personal, it is not meant to be lived in isolation. Human support offers what time alone cannot provide: presence, comfort, a mirror, and containment.

Becoming certified means training to be part of a network that provides support from an emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual perspective. It means choosing to grow in community, learning to sustain oneself with serene strength and vibrant hope, and transforming your story into a seed of strength for others.
